From the Unicredit Foundation, 500 thousand euros for projects in favor of the Third Age

Thanks to the funds raised through its Carta Etica, the Italian banking group is launching a national tender of 500.000 euros which will reward seven projects in the area aimed at assisting the elderly and promoting active ageing.

The third edition of the UniCredit Carta E tender for the development of "Strategies of social cohesion in favor of the Third Age" kicks off on 24 June, aimed at Italian Non-Profit Organizations for projects aimed at assisting the elderly and promoting aging active.

Thanks to the contributions collected with UniCredit Card Classic E - the credit card which, at no additional cost for the holder, collects 2 per thousand of every expense made by feeding a fund destined for solidarity and support initiatives and projects in favor of people in difficulties – seven projects will be selected within the tender, corresponding to the territorial subdivision of UniCredit in Italy, which will be financed with 60.000 euros each.

The projects will be examined and selected by a Scientific Committee, coordinated by the UniCredit Foundation in collaboration with the Bocconi University of Milan.
In a second phase, as part of the internal “Your Choice, Your Project” initiative, over 50.000 UniCredit Italian employees will be able to vote for their favorite project among the seven selected at the inside the notice. Based on the votes received, each project will compete to win a share of an additional 80.000 euros in prize money.

To participate in the Call, Non-Profit Organizations must have been established for at least 3 years and be a Non-Profit Organization of Social Utility - ONLUS - pursuant to Legislative Decree n. 460 of 4 December 1997.

“Carta Etica, in its 8 years of life, has contributed to supporting projects of social utility for over 10 million euros” recalled Gabriele Piccini, UniCredit Italy Country Chairman.
