Cubogas (Snam): Most visit to the Cherasco plant to promote sustainable mobility

Yesterday a meeting was held meeting among the representatives of National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST) and the company's executives Cubogas, wholly owned by Greenture and belonging to Snam Group.

The meeting, which took place at the Cubogas plant in Cherasco, was aopportunities for collaboration and sharing between the group company based in San Donato Milanese and the MOST Foundation, of which Snam is a founding member.

Cubogas' commitment

Cubogas, a company specialized in technological compression solutions for natural gas, biomethane and hydrogen for automotive and other applications, is actively involved in four projects research in the program of the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST). These projects aim to develop compression solutions for hydrogen intended for mobility.

Cubogas projects

The company shared with the MOST i progress made in the design and development of a vertical compressor prototype oil-free for hydrogen, as part of the “SPOKE 12 Innovative Propulsion” project. The meeting represents the first moment of external dissemination of the progress achieved so far in the live testing of this product. This technology will be fundamental as the "beating heart" of road refueling stations for hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Cubogas also presented further technological solutions in the "live testing" phase at the production site and intended for the compression of Hydrogen. These include the Booster hydraulic compressor with a capacity of 80 kg/hour and the Fuel Maker Big Q H2 “slow-fill” compressor with a capacity of 1 kg/hour.

“The meeting at the Cubogas plant in Cherasco was very positive. We had the opportunity to delve deeper into the progress made by the company in particular in the 'Spoke 12 Innovative Propulsion' thanks to the technological solutions currently under development and aimed at compressing hydrogen for mobility – he commented Gianmarco Montanari, General manager Most - “The strategic collaboration with Snam within the Most National Center it contributes to the promotion of clean energy and the responsible adoption of alternative sources also in sectors linked to the mobility of people and goods".

“The objective of Cubogas, as for Greenture, is to strengthen sustainable infrastructure over the entire value chain: from storage, to transport up to end users such as refueling stations. We share the commitment of MOST which aims, through the synergistic union of different know-how, at the consolidation of a hydrogen development process that allows a solid and effective green transition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050" declared l 'Chief Executive Officer of Cubogas, Gianfranco Malvicini.
