CruPerdu 2011 Castello Bonomi, a perfect union between man and territory

From a bet to recover "lost vineyards" together with a harvest, the best of the last 15 years, a very high quality Franciacorta was born. All following rigorous practices of respect for territorial biodiversity and environmental protection.

Bonomi Castle, the only Château in Franciacorta, stands majestically at 275 meters on the slopes of Monte Orfano, in the municipality of Coccaglio: 24 hectares of extraordinary vineyards, developed in terraces, on land rich in limestone and rocky substrates, facing south, fenced and surrounded by a centuries-old park. They represent the excellence of these places, dotted with small villages and ancient buildings full of history and charm.

Like the other cellars of the group Paladin house, Castello Bonomi adopts sustainable cultivation practices exemplified in the concept of "reasoned viticulture" for which the vineyard is conceived as an ecosystem to be preserved and guaranteed in its territorial biodiversity and qualitative productivity together with the protection of consumer health and the environment.

The excellence of Bonomi Castle it is expressed in the numerous and important awards and recognitions obtained throughout its history. CruPerdu, Rosè and Lucrezia Black Label reconfirm a quality that has characterized it for years as a historic company, placing it among the best Franciacorta wineries ever

The spearhead and pride of Castello Bonomi is the CruPerdu – Vintage 2011, born from the grapes of the "lost vineyards", rediscovered in 1986 by Chef de Cave Louis Bersini and brought back to a second life with that dedication that comes from the encounter between passion and land.

An exceptional harvest, the best in the last fifteen years, according to the Franciacorta Consortium, combined with an ideal ripening process of the grapes and the subsequent prolonged refinement, have given rise to a new success that adds to the numerous harvests in the history of Castello Bonomi .

The CruPerdu grapes were able to enjoy growth in conditions of extraordinary bliss, made up of a hot spring which was followed by a cool and rainy summer, which gave the grapes, thanks to the good daily temperature ranges, a slow maturation, accompanied step by step and cared for according to the dictates of our reasoned viticulture.

The result: a more rapid concentration of sugars, a rapid lowering of acidity, gradual ripening, a harvest of impeccably healthy grapes, with the correct sugar content and optimal acid composition.

For these characteristics of absolute value, Castello Bonomi has decided to keep CruPerdu 2011 aged on the lees for an extended period, first releasing the 2012 vintage. Today this investment rewards the choice with very high quality, an absolutely refined product that embodies six years of history.

The particularly valuable harvest in the cellar has made it possible to best express the philosophy of Castello Bonomi, i.e. the enhancement of exceptional vintages through long refinements, beyond the normal production chain. CruPerdu 2011 he was thus able to rest on the lees for a good 72 months.

The result is a Franciacorta of excellence, fruit of the conjunction between the best harvest of the last 15 years, the patient and prolonged refinement in the bottle and the skilful intervention of the Chef de Cave Louis Bersini.

The Cuvèe of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir is characterized by a bright straw yellow color with green-gold reflections, a fine and persistent perlage. Tropical fruits, yeasts and toasted notes stand out on the nose, the palate is soft and enveloping, with sapid and citrus notes. A Franciacorta with extraordinary longevity, which can evolve well over 10 years from the harvest.
