State contracts: increase of 100 euros, the Treasury opens

The negotiation on state contract renewal it may be at a tipping point. An opening ad came from the Treasury for the first time on Wednesday increase funding for public employee payroll. In the next Economic and Financial Document (Def), which will see the light in April, the government could allocate to this item of expenditure additional resources of 200-250 million euros.

The figure is still very far from the requests of the trade unions – who would like to raise the bar up to one and a half billion – but it could double thanks to the contribution of the Regions and Local Authorities to the financing of the contracts.

In this way, the increase in wages would reach quota 90-100 euros gross per month. Sum already indicated in the past as an objective by the Minister of Public Administration, Fabiana Didone, and which would at least serve to make the bonus of 20 euros gross per month permanent envisaged by the last renewal of the contract (the so-called "equalisation element").

That's not to say it's enough. The agency that deals with the unions on behalf of the government (Aran) certifies that the misalignment between public and private wages in the industrial sector it reaches the 12,4%.

As for the workers' representatives, the confederal secretary of the Cisl, Ignazio Ganga, believes that Wednesday was only "an interlocutory meeting".

Antonio Focillo, of the Uil, noted "an attention to considering a possible additional economic intervention", even if for now "the MEF has not made any commitments".

According to Massimo Battaglia, of Confsal, "we need clarity on resources and disputes must be resolved, starting with school".

Meanwhile, they have been unlocked 210 million euros for employee bonuses (related to the year 2017) and the strengthening of tax agencies. In detail, 167,3 million are intended for the Revenue Agency (of which 10,2 for the expansion) and 42,8 for the Customs and Monopolies Agency (of which two for the expansion).
