Consob will supervise Saipem's capital increase and will closely monitor the performance of the shares on the market by virtue of the hyper-dilutive characteristics of the recapitalization announced by the company.
In fact, the strong dilution, according to the body led by Giuseppe Vegas, determines 'the risk that price anomalies arise during the offer period of the new shares, consisting in an overvaluation of the market price of the shares compared to their theoretical value '.
For this reason, the National Authority for Companies and the Stock Exchange 'recommends all market players to adopt virtuous behavior to minimize the risk of price anomalies occurring during the option offer period'.
In addition, Borsa Italiana has decided to suspend the early exercise option contracts, traded on the Idem market, having Saipem shares as underlying in order to prevent the price anomalies that could occur on the MTA from affecting the derivatives market and viceversa'.
Meanwhile, the Saipem stock is down sharply today in Piazza Affari: at the end of the day, the shares lost 20,5%.
