School competition: Miur ko website, registrations stop

The website of the Ministry of Education has gone haywire. The online system that thousands of teachers should use to register for the 2016 school competition cannot handle the amount of applications that arrived on the last available day and many teachers risk being left out due to the blockade. For this reason, the Anief union (National Association of Teachers and Trainers) has requested an immediate extension, in order to allow all interested parties in possession of the required requisites to participate in the competitive procedure through which more than 63 teachers will be hired.

According to what was declared by the union, thousands of people have been trying to register since yesterday, but remain blocked without being able to complete the process. The candidates were forced to re-compile the application already submitted several times, also for some definitive clarifications that arrived from the Miur only close to Easter.

The extension is necessary because "what happened is independent of the will of those who wanted to register for the competition" explained Marcello Pacifico, president of Anief. Even the fact that they were reduced at the last moment - adds the trade unionist - "did not depend on their will, given the uncertainties of the MIUR in providing clarifications". In some cases, "the caricature was touched upon", with the Ministry of Education which first communicated the information, only to retrace its steps just twenty-four hours later. “Let's hope that at least this time common sense will prevail” hopes President Anief.
