Terna confirms its position among the most innovative companies on the international scene. The Group, led by Giuseppina Di Foggia, has won—along with Spanish grid operator Redeia—the Corporate Startup Stars Award from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the organization representing over 45 million businesses in over 170 countries, committed to promoting international trade, responsible conduct, and global regulatory frameworks.

In particular, Terna received the prestigious award for demonstrating its innovation in the highly regulated context of European electricity Transmission System Operators. It distinguished itself by adopting a consolidated Venture Client model and creating a Corporate Venture Capital vehicle aimed at fostering technological acceleration in the sector.

The award highlights the proactive role of Terna and Redeia in creating the TSO Innovation Alliance, an initiative developed together with other European operators to foster collaboration and innovation in the sector. This alliance, launched in July 2025, represents an unprecedented step in the cooperation between eight of Europe's largest electricity grid operators, with the aim of accelerating innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies to support an increasingly digital, decarbonized, and resilient electricity system.

Furthermore, for the second consecutive year, Terna was confirmed by ICC in the Top 100 Corporate Startup Stars list, which celebrates global companies most engaged in collaborative initiatives with startups and scaleups. This result confirms the centrality of open innovation in the Group's strategies.

For Terna, open innovation means concretely co-innovating with the players in the global ecosystem – other companies, startups, ecosystem builder and institutions—to accelerate the adoption of new technologies in the electricity system and enable the energy transition. In this context, the TSO Innovation Alliance represents a collaborative model for critical infrastructure: effective, coordinated, and capable of generating innovation and shared value that goes beyond the contribution of individual sector players.
