Cubbit, the Bologna-based scale-up pioneering geo-distributed cloud storage in Europe, and HERABIT, the Hera Group's digital company, announced today an innovative collaboration in the national cloud services landscape.
After adopting Cubbit technology internally in 2023, HERABIT is now extending it to the business market by integrating DS3 Composer software into its data centers in Imola and Siziano (Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy) and Santa Lucia di Piave (Veneto). This is the first regional Business Alliance Partnership signed by Cubbit, to make distributed cloud storage architecture available to all industrial supply chains, with full local control and data sovereignty, resilience, efficiency, and compatibility with the S3* standard. The two companies thus consolidate an alliance that sees HERABIT as "preferred infrastructure partner” in the Emilia-Romagna region and pave the way for a model that can be replicated in other local contexts.
The main use cases will range from backup to long-term data archiving, to the creation of data lakes for businesses and artificial intelligence systems.
