Tim, Leonardo, CDP e Sogei, gathered roped, they exercised the right of first refusal in the European tender to create and manage the National Strategic Pole for the Cloud. The companies announced it in a joint press release, specifying that the operation envisages a public-private partnership agreement. The consortium's move is a raise compared to the awarding of the tender to the competitor Fastweb-Aruba which had obtained the assignment with a discount on the offer presented by the Tim-Leonardo consortium.

The tender had been called in January of this year by the company Defense Services, the central purchasing body of the Department for Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The award had taken place for 2,8 billion, with an average discount of 39,19% on the price lists based on the tender. Furthermore, the Fastweb-Aruba project also offered the possibility for the State to enter the newco at any time through a capital increase. So the Tim-Leonardo-Sogei-Cdp quartet will also have to fulfill on this front.

The national strategic hub will be an infrastructure capable of delivering cloud solutions and services for the Public Administration, "with the aim of ensuring the highest possible level of efficiency, security and data reliability - reads the press release - The initiative is part of the overall plan to accelerate the country's digital transformation to provide innovative services to citizens and businesses" , as required by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr).

Tim, Cdp, Leonardo and Sogei, having exercised their right of pre-emption, have undertaken "to fulfil, as communicated to the Administration, the contractual obligations under the same conditions offered by the current provisional contractor", concludes the note.
