Cinema In Festa 2025: what it is and how it works

Cinema In Celebration reaches its sixth edition in 2025, consolidating a project started in 2022 and planned until 2026. Promoted by Anec and Anica, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the collaboration of the David di Donatello – Accademia del Cinema Italiano, the initiative takes place twice a year, in June and September, with the next edition scheduled by 21 25 to September 2025.

The goal is clear: to offer an ever-wider audience the chance to return to the cinema by paying a premium. ticket symbolic price of just 3,50 euros, thus encouraging attendance at the cinemas even in traditionally less crowded months.

The project is inspired by the historical Fête du Cinéma French, founded in 1985 to promote cinematographic culture through specially priced tickets, a successful model created by the National Federation of French Cinemas (FNCC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.

Cinema for 3,5 euros: how to find participating theaters

During the five days of the initiative, from Sunday 8th to Thursday 12th June, there will be over 2800 screens in the approximately 900 participating venues to offer tickets at a reduced price. Record Viewers and Box Office Hits with Lilo & Stitch and Mission Impossible

The sixth edition of Cinema In Festa debuts in a climate of great enthusiasm, driven by the extraordinary box office results recorded in weekend of May 22-25 2025, the third best weekend of the year. According to data provided by Luigi Lonigro, president of the Union of Film Publishers and Distributors Anica, those days were recorded over 1.345.000 spectators and a revenue over 10 million of euros, with an increase of 340% compared to the previous weekend.

The success was supported by popular titles such as Lilo & Stitch, best debut of 2025 with over 7,1 million euros collected and more than 924.000 attendances; MissionImpossible – The Final Reckoning, second with 1,5 million euros; and the Italian film Outside by Mario Martone, third with 654.000 euros.

Lonigro stressed that there could not have been a better time to launch Cinema In Festa.
