China first economics article written by a robot

One minute to report on the trading day. No journalist in the world would be capable of such an exploit, yet a site was able to publish such an article: however, for the first time in history, a robot wrote it. The piece appeared yesterday on the portal qq.com, which belongs to the Chinese telecommunications giant Tencent: for the first time an article on economics has been written entirely, and without a single error, by a machine.

The text, made up of 916 ideograms, was created in the space of a minute by Dreamwriter, this is the name of the "robot-journalist". The Tencent group, which launched China's first online bank last January, is one of the most innovative in robotics, one of the sectors that the government intends to develop by 2025 to transform the domestic industry: two weeks ago, Tencent unveiled the first robot controlled by a smartphone app, even if the model is not yet ready for commercial entry.

The news of the article written by a robot did not surprise industry experts, however, many of whom remain skeptical of the potential of this technology, which already allows the drafting of articles through the use of machines, especially in the case of articles on economics or sports, and on its future developments in fiction or investigative writing.
