The rise in cigarette prices has arrived. After the increase in excise duties established by the Government and triggered on January 20st, from last week, producers have above all raised the prices of high-end products. Contrary to what was expected, in several cases the cost of a rigid pack of XNUMX cigarettes was increased beyond the psychological threshold of five euros.
In general, the level of price increases for consumers varies from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 20 cents per package. In the Executive's plans, the reorganization of excise duties should bring about 200 million euros more into the Treasury's coffers this year.
Below we offer the updated prices of some of the most popular brands of cigarettes (not all of them have risen), always referring to rigid packs of 20 pieces. For the complete list, please refer to the State Monopolies price list, attached in PDF at the end of the article.
