Cerberus, Nicastro appointed senior advisor for Europe

Cerberus Capital Management, a New York-based company that offers alternative investment solutions, has announced the entry of Robert Nicastro with the position of Senior Advisor Europe. In his new role, Nicastro will advise Cerberus on investment opportunities and the identification of

A new role therefore for the former General Manager of the Unicredit Group. In 2015 Nicastro was appointed by the Bank of Italy as Chairman of the four Good Banks overseeing its termination and subsequent assignment. Nicastro was then a member of numerous Boards of Directors of European banks, including HVB, the Bank of Austria and Banca Pekao, and was also President of the European Financial Marketing Association. To date Roberto Nicastro is Chairman of Cassa del Trentino and is also a member of the Board of Directors of Vitale & Co.

“Roberto is a leading figure in the European financial community with a clear vision of the dynamics of the Italian and European markets. We are delighted to welcome Roberto to our team where he will assist us with investment activities across Europe” commented Lee Millstein, Chairman of Cerberus Global Investments.

David Teitelbaum, Responsible for advisory activities across Europe for Cerberus Capital Management, said: “Roberto's view, network and expertise will represent great added value for our investors and partners. He will support us in defining important strategic partnerships and in investing in innovative capital instruments for the European banking and financial industry”.

“Cerberus has an almost unique track record of partnering with financial banking institutions in Europe, and aims to support them in achieving their strategic objectives, thanks to an offer of leading or very innovative operating platforms and tools. I am happy – commented Nicastro – to collaborate with Cerberus in European areas where I have gained a lot of experience.”
