Centrale del Latte d'Italia: semester in the red for one million

But the company "believes that with the next quarter and in the following months the economic result will be able to reach the expected objectives, in a cyclical framework of moderate recovery".

Centrale del Latte d'Italia, the third largest Italian hub in the sector, closed the first half-year with consolidated net revenues of 90,5 million euros (+85%), up 5% on a like-for-like basis of consolidation compared to the first half 2016.

Ebitda reaches 2,5 million euros (+61% annually) equal to 2,7% of the value of production. The net result shows a loss which rose to 1 million euro from -555 thousand euro in the same period of 2016.

The company specifies in a note that the scope of consolidation has been expanded compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and includes, in addition to Centrale del Latte d'Italia, Centrale del Latte della Toscana and Centrale del Latte di Vicenza, therefore the table reclassified consolidated income statement for the first half of 2017 is not consistent with that for the period ended June 30, 2016.

The group's net financial position as at 30 June 2017 was negative by 64,3 million euro from -60,2 million at the end of December 2016. Centrale del Latte d'Italia has launched a 14,9 million investment plan to redevelop the operational headquarters in Turin.

Finally, from a forecasting point of view, the note concludes, "it is believed that with the next quarter and in the following months, the economic result will be able to reach the expected objectives, in a cyclical framework of moderate recovery".
