Il Sustainable Savings Coupon di CDP is inspired for the first time by principles ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) providing, in addition to the fixed return, also a possible premium based on the performance of the index STOXX Europe 600 ESG-X.
“With this new voucher, CDP confirms its commitment to the fight against climate change and in favor of inclusive and sustainable growth, in line with its Strategic Plan, with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan", explains the company in a note.
The award linked to sustainability
Il postal savings certificate launched by CDP presents an important novelty since it provides for a possible premium that can be added to the fixed return accrued at the time of its maturity, i.e. in the seventh year.
The premium is linked to the performance of the index STOXX Europe 600 ESG-X which includes some of the companies belonging to the STOXX Europe 600 basket, one of the main European equity benchmarks.
In particular – in order to form the Index – companies that do not comply with the standards are excluded from the basket Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 agenda and the Sustainalytics ESG Impact Framework, such as those involved in the controversial arms market, tobacco production or companies whose revenues derive from thermal coal exploration or extraction or which generate energy through the use of thermal coal.
