After last Saturday's bombshell about a possible exit of Flavio Cattaneo from Telecom Italia, Tim's CEO wanted to deny all the rumors in the margins of Agcom's annual report.
According to Cattaneo, these are “indiscretions all false, I have a contract until 2020 and I'm staying until the last day". Last week's rumors were linked to an alleged break with Vivendi's French partners, and the name of the potential replacement, the Brazilian Amos Genish, was even leaked.
“I'm good at Tim, e I have no tension with partners, board or president“, added Cattaneo. "The company has achieved important milestones and will set more."
Cattaneo then wanted to underline the fruits of his work to date: "Our offices have shown me data that show how Tim is the first company among the EU and US incumbents in terms of recovery and speed of growth of the top line and profitability".
Meanwhile, on an uncertain morning for Piazza Affari, Cattaneo's statements raise the title Telecom Italia, second best share of the morning, which stands at 1,77% at 0,805. But Vivendi, a Tim shareholder with 23,9%, announced that "it has not yet completely resolved the climate of tension that has arisen with the managing director Flavio Cattaneo".
