The economist Nicola Rossi is the new chairman of the Supervisory Board of Banca Popolare di Milano (Bpm): he was elected yesterday by the shareholders' meeting and he takes over from another economist, Piero Giarda.
Rossi will be chairman of the bank's supervisory board in the transition phase leading up to the merger between Bpm and Banco Popolare which was and is the architect of the CEO of the Milanese bank, Giuseppe Castagna who also yesterday underlined the importance of a merger which was born after the reform of the Popolari, which will give life to the third Italian banking pole and which will immediately become a "potential aggregator pole" for the other Popolari.
