US cinemas are still partially closed, but politics, agitated by Donald Trump's latest outings, is guaranteeing the show these days. A lot of things happened in Washington between last night and tonight. In the Senate, Republican speaker McConnel blew up the plan to increase the extraordinary check to be sent to a large part of US citizens. The text put to the vote contained both the increase to 2 dollars of the bonus, but also two measures which are disliked by the Dems, who in fact opposed it. The stop infuriated Donald Trump, who, also supported by part of the majority party in the Senate, lashed out on Twitter against McConnell. With the leader of the party there is an important part of the senators, all those concerned by the additional cost, equal to 464 billion.

Wall Street paid for the uncertainty: Dow Jones and S&P -0,22%. NASDAQ -0,38%. The Russell 2000 also held back (-1,85%). The PMI index suffered the heaviest loss of the month. Wall Street's S&P500 index future is up 0,3%.

The Shanghai and Shenzen stock exchanges gain 1% to 5.095 points, a level not seen since mid-2015. This morning, above all, technological growth, but all sectors are highlighted to a certain extent: among these, there is the one that includes companies committed to environmental protection.

Sichuan Yahua rose 2% after announcing the signing of a four-year supply contract for lithium hydroxide with Tesla, which will use it to build batteries for cars assembled at its Shanghai plant.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng index is up 1,5%, also thanks to Alibaba's +6%. Seoul's Kospi index gains 1,5%. The almost ten billion dollar agreement signed ten days ago between the Korean LG Group and Indonesia for investments in the electric car production chain was presented tonight.

The dollar index, the main indicator of the strength of the United States currency, fell to its lowest level since the beginning of 2018. The euro appreciated for the fourth consecutive day, at 1,228 against the dollar. Gold rises to 1.882 dollars an ounce, +0,3%. Brent oil at $51,3 a barrel, up 0,4%.

THE DISTRIBUTION OF VACCINES ADVANCES

Futures signal a positive start for European stock exchanges this morning. The distribution of vaccines is picking up speed, even if the trend of infections does not slow down.

The Italians who received the first dose of the vaccine are 8.361. This means that 86% of the 9.750 doses available have been administered. Late yesterday evening, six planes delivered the 470 doses of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine destined for Italy this week. In the morning the doses will be distributed to the 203 administration sites in the various regions.

FLAT EUROPE, LONDON HAS A PARTY

London, stopped on Monday for Boxing Day, celebrated the Brexit agreement twenty-four hours late on the old continent's price lists, already tuned into the holidays for the end of a year that will be difficult to forget. Today the British Parliament will be called to vote on the agreement. Even the Eurosceptic conservatives have confirmed that they will vote in favour.

In Piazza Affari, the FtseMib index closed slightly down (-0,13%, at 22.259 basis points), at the end of a session with volumes at a flicker, after hitting the highest since February at the start. The Senate vote on the budget law, which has already been approved in the House, is scheduled for today. The Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, will hold the end-of-year press conference this morning at 11.

Few ideas also on the other markets: in red Frankfurt (-0,15%). Sap shines after the news of the forthcoming listing in New York of the subsidiary Qualtrics. Paris (+0,42%) and Madrid (+0,18%) are in green, albeit without any particular points worthy of note.

The brightest stock exchange is that of London, where the FTSE 100 gained almost 2%.

ADVANCE ASTRAZENECA, BUT ITS VACCINE IS DELAYED

AstraZeneca gained 4,5% on news that the UK government is expected to approve the Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use within days. But the European Medicines Agency's Deputy Executive Director, Noel Wathion, said it would it is "unlikely" that the EMA will approve the vaccine by January.

NEW HISTORICAL RECORD FOR THE SEMI-ANNUAL BOT

Italian bonds closed the session marginally lower in a market with thin volumes. FERRARI RECORD PUSHED BY BREXIT

Ferrari runs (+1,07%). The stock updated its all-time high, exceeding 190 euros, to then close trading at 189,05 euros. The Maranello house is one of the Ftse Mib stocks that benefits the most from the soft Brexit: the Red makes about 13% of its revenues in the United Kingdom.

FCA, 2 BILLION FOR ELECTRICITY IN POLAND

FCA will invest two billion euros in its plant in Tychy, Poland, to build hybrid and electric cars under the Jeep, Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands. Other industrialists, on the other hand, were down: Pirelli -1,22%, Stm -0,9%.

Cnh Industrial is also bad (-0,9%): Banca Akros maintains the buy opinion and the target price at 12,50 euros. For 2020, analysts forecast sales of 23,256 billion dollars for the Italian-US industrial group, compared to a value of 26,149 billion in 2019.

A HYDROGEN TRAIN IN THE A2A AND SNAM PROGRAMS

A2A (+1%) and Snam have signed a memorandum of understanding together with Ferrovie Nord Milano to give further impetus to the development of green hydrogen mobility in Lombardy. The agreement is aimed at studying ways of supplying and refueling hydrogen from renewable sources and from the recovery of materials to power the new trains on the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line.

MPS -0,1%, NEW CAPITAL AMOUNT FROM ECB

Weak banks: Intesa and Unicredit -0,4%. Mps (-0,1%) received the ECB's decision regarding the capital requirements to be met starting from 2021 January XNUMX.

FINCANTIERI: LANDING IN FRANCE AT RISK
