Stock markets in the red: achievements and fears after the US debt agreement

European stock markets are in the red: profit-taking prevails, but also fears about the short-lived agreement between Democrats and Republicans on US debt – The dollar is back above 1,36 against the euro – The Chinese agency Dagong has US debt downgraded to A-, with negative outlook – A Piazza Affari in the light of Mediaset and luxury.

Asia celebrates, Europe does not. The agreement between Democrats and Republicans that avoided US default does not galvanize them Bags of the Old Continent, which all open lower. Piazza Affari dropped by one percentage point, London by 0,4%, Frankfurt and Paris by 0,6%. 

They prevail you make them of investors after the rises of the last few sessions, but at the same time they are alive concerns for the short term of the US agreement (which will expire at the beginning of 2014).

Fears are demonstrated by dollar weakness, back above 1,36 against the euro (the single currency trades at 1,3613). Furthermore, the Chinese agency Dagong downgraded US debt to A- from A confirming the negative outlook.

I Asian listsInstead, they reacted enthusiastically to the US agreement. At the continental level, the MSCI Asia Pacific index gains 0,6%, with Tokyo the most bought (+0,8%). Little moves, however, Hong Kong and Shanghai, which fluctuate on parity. 

As for the bond market, lo BTP-Bund spread opens uphill, returning around the threshold of 240 basis points. 

On the Ftse Mib it is immediately lively Telecom Italy, which comes to earn 1,5% later the request of the shareholder Findim to convene a meeting to reset the board of directors. In immediately following trading, however, the stock wiped out gains. 

The most bought shares in Piazza Affari are those of Mediaset (+ 1,86), Salvatore Ferragamo (+ 1,71), Tod'S (+1,17) and World Duty Free (+0,82). The worst titles are instead Cnh Industrial (-2,31%), Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (-1,72%), Mediobanca (-1,64%), Enel Green Power (-1,57%) And Enel (-1,53%).
