Stock exchanges in free fall: banks in the crosshairs, the spread rises

And as the hours go by, the losses worsen: the Ftse Mib, which yesterday burned all the gains since July 2013, is unable to stem the sales and loses 3,27% again below 16.000 points. Madrid moves -2,3% while Paris loses 2,4 and Frankfurt 1,5%. London has also worsened but is moving around -1%. Athens is still suffering after yesterday's crash on fears of a possible fall of the Tsipras government.

Among the few positive stocks in the Ftse Mib Enel and Enel Green Power stood out, then moved into negative territory.  EGP presented its accounts yesterday, while the parent company will publish the 2015 financial report today. Analysts expect a decreasing EBITDA, between 14,8 and 14,9 billion, compared to 15,7 billion in the previous year. However, a positive surprise could come from the debt front, which could drop to around 38 billion, from 39,4 billion at the end of September. Yesterday, however, Enel Green Power announced the 2015 financial statements: the company recorded a turnover of 3 billion, an EBITDA down to 1,8 billion and a debt of 6,9 billion euros. Even if the numbers have been judged by some analysts as disappointing, the titles are today – at the moment – ​​rewarded on the market.

Instead they resist Telecom Italia and Luxottica.

The banks collapsed, offered copiously even on the eve: Ubi Banca dropped by 6,7% to 3,278 euros, Banco Popolare left 6,9% in the field, Popolare Milano - 6,4%. Unicredit, which presented a 15% decline in profit with a sharp decline in the fourth quarter, lost 4%. Intesa Sanpaolo -4,46% to 2,18 euros. Also waiting for the accounts of Banco Popolare which will have to respond to Bpm's request for a merger only at par. Among the worst also Ferrari and Mediaset. FCA is also bad, losing around 4,46 to 5,14 euros: investigations in the USA by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration continue. Unipolsai, which earned more than 2%, lost 1,7% to 1,6 euros. Telecom Italia also performed well, awaiting the industrial plan which will be presented in London on February 16th, and Luxottica.

The euro weakens slightly against the dollar, practically stable at 1,118 dollars. It dates back to it Btp Bund spread at 149 points and is approaching the 150 basis point threshold. The price of oil rose slightly: Brent gained 0,09% to 32,91 dollars a barrel, Wti fell to 29,92 dollars.
