Stock Exchange: Nexi sells to Euronext the technological component that manages MTS operations

nexi has sold Euronext (The new master of Piazza Affari) the technological platform that currently manages the operations of Mts, the main fixed income trading platform of Euronext, and Euronext Securities Milan, formerly Monte Titoli. The Italian company announced it in a note. The purchase price will be paid in cash and amounts to 57 million euro, without prejudice to the usual corrections at closing.

“This divestment, consistent with our strategy following the mergers with SIA and Nets, will allow us to further focus on our core business, digital payments, accelerating our growth in Europe and focusing on realizing synergies,” said Renato Martini, Digital Banking & Corporate Solutions Director of Nexi.

For Stéphane Boujnah, CEO and Chairman of the Managing Board of Euronext, “the planned acquisition of the technological assets underlying MTS and Euronext Securities Milan is a milestone in the integration of the Borsa Italiana Group. For Euronext having the intellectual property of critical assets is a key part of a strategy that aims to ensure the robustness of our operations, further development and innovation of products. We look forward to welcoming the new teams to the Euronext Group”.
