Stock Exchange: after the boom, you realize on Telecom Italia

Day of realizations on Telecom Italia shares. After the recent rises (+25% in five sessions) and yesterday's boom (+8,39%), today in mid-morning the stock travels down by about one and a half points in Piazza Affari. Volumes are sustained, already equal to the daily average.

Investors' attention is linked to the rumors about the possible shareholding reorganization of Telecom, which could soon count on a new shareholder through a reserved capital increase. Several names in circulation: from the American At & T to the America Mobile by Carlos Slim, from Spanish Telefonica to the Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris.

Telefonica, in reality, is already in the capital of Telecom, having in its pocket 46% of Telco, the holding which in turn controls 22,4% of the Italian company. The hypothesis in this case is that the Spanish operator acquires the shares of the Italian shareholders of Telco (Generali has 30,6%, Mediobanca and Intesa 11,5% each).

Il September 19th Telecom's decisive board of directors will meet.

“When we are close to the deadline you will know – said the CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo this morning, Henry Cucchiani, regarding the possible exit from Telco -. The Telecom president has pledged to present solutions shortly, we have to wait”.

Furthermore, according to Cucchiani, the nationality of any new Telecom shareholders is not a problem: “We are in an open world and telephony is the most global business there is. Being Italian doesn't seem fundamental to me”.
