Europe remains cautious and Wall Street proceeds at a moderate pace towards record levels, but to shine above all in the financial landscape today is Business Square, which scores an increase of 0,95% reaching a whisker from 26.600 points. On the Ftse Mib he wins the race Azimuth, +4,43%, followed by Post + 2,49% Italgas +2,44% and Diasorin +2,29%. Almost all energy stocks are in the money, in the wake of the news of the Falk agreement for the sale of the majority stake in Falck Renewables (+13,8%) to Infrastructure Investment Fund (Lif), with subsequent takeover bid on the remaining capital. On the secondary, the spread fell slightly, to 104 points and the rate of the 10-year BTP closed at -0,92% and that of the Bund with the same duration at -0,12%.

The words of the director of the European Department of the International Monetary Fund, Alfred Kammer, contribute to instilling optimism, according to which the vaccination campaign represented a turning point for Italy. Meanwhile, the quarterly season continues and, in Europe, the Swiss food giant Nestlé scores a gain of 2,66% after optimistic forecasts.

On the other hand, Dutch paint and coatings maker Akzo Nobel was in the red, showing declining quarterly earnings on raw material price hikes and supply chain disruptions, which will continue through mid-2022. Asml Holdings, a key supplier, loses for computer chip makers, with QXNUMX sales valuations lower than some analysts' estimates.

The quarterly reports also look closely at New York, precisely to measure the fever of the recovery and assess the problems that can slow it down.

Netflix is declining, although its numbers have positively surprised. After markets are closed, Tesla and IBM will present their accounts, while the Fed should publish the Beige Book at 20, Italian time.

Appears shy Petroleum, an unusual occurrence lately, but it could be attributed to the Chinese government's intention to step up efforts to curb record coal prices and ensure mines can operate at full capacity. In general, the oil markets are supported by the scarce availability of gas and coal, which has led to a preference for diesel and fuel to generate energy.

Taking a closer look at the blue chips in Piazza Affari, it can be seen that Azimut has reached its highest level since July 2015, benefiting from a general sector rotation movement and from the fact that analysts are updating their sector estimates in view of the quarterly results. SocGen raised the target price on Azimut to 24,5 from 21 euro and on Anima (+3,28%) to 5,3 from 5 euro.

Among the utilities Enel (+1,82%) hits the highest for over a month in the session.

Banks have now remained quite out of the way, while the losses in the main basket are limited to three stocks: nexi -0,79% Ferrari -0,7% stm -0,42%.
