Borsa 2021: Alkemy is the queen, but Unicredit stands out on the Ftse Mib

The year of records. This is how 2021 of the international stock exchanges can be described, with the West pulling the sprint of the increases, despite the uncertainties that have characterized the last 12 months. Not even the rise in inflation, the energy and chip crises, the different central bank policies and finally the spread of the Omicron variant have managed to stop a race that started in the second half of 2020 and has never stopped since . 

2021 OF INTERNATIONAL BAGS

The 2021 ride brought double-digit increases for the main western lists. In the United States, the scepter of best scholarship of the year goes to S & P 500, which gained almost 28%, just below the all-time high of 4.800 points reached in the December 28 session. Spur purchases also on Hi-Tech, with the Nasdaq which after the +44% recorded in 2020, has achieved yet another performance to be framed (+23%), driven by A (Google's parent company, +66,86%) e Tesla (+50,7%). On the shields also the Dow Jones (+ 19,2%).

In Europe (and beyond), the pink jersey is Paris which closed 2021 with an increase of 29,2%. It follows closely Amsterdam (+28,1%). He finished on the third step of the podium Milan, with the Ftse Eb recovering the lost ground last year (-6,42%) and puts the fears due to the pandemic behind it. From 1 January to 30 December, the main price list of Piazza Affari gained 22,86%, rising from 22.232 to 27.346 points. In fourth place there is Zurich (+20,8%), more backward Frankfurt (+15,8%), e Madrid (+7,93%). Outside the European Union, the performance of is also excellent London (+ 14,59%).

The Asian lists are more timid, where we find the only negative performance of the year: in fact, the worst stock exchange of 2021 is Hong Kong (-15,03%). However, it comes as a counterbalance Taiwan, up +24% thanks to the very strong demand for chips. In between the CSI 300's Shanghai-Shenzhen, +4,4% (in euros) since the beginning of the year, Tokyo (+ 4,6%) and Alone (+ 4,17%). 

ITALIAN STOCK EXCHANGE: 2021 IS DOUBLE-DIGIT

Driven by the success of the vaccination campaign and by the trust that politics and international investors place in the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, the capitalization of Piazza Affari in 2021 rose by 24,7%, exceeding 750 billion euros, for a weight on GDP which has grown from 37% last year to 43,1% today. Also noteworthy is the high number of freshmen landed this year on the Milan Stock Exchange: le Ipo there were a total of 49, more than double the 22 in 2020, but above all the highest level since 2000. Five companies landed on the Ftse Mib (Ariston, Intercos, Philogen, Seco and The Italian Sea Group), while the other 44 debuted on Euronext Growth Milan. Overall the number of listed companies rose from 377 to 407. 

Within the stock market, in addition to the 23 percent gained by the Ftse Mib, the performance of the Ftse Italia Growth (ex Aim +58%), resolution Ftse Italia Small Cap (+50,3%) and of the segment Star (+44,5%). The index is also in great shape Ftse Italia Mid Cap (+30,3%) and theAll Share + 23,5%.

STOCK EXCHANGE STARS: THE MAJOR RAISES IN MILAN

In Piazza Affari, the queen action of 2021 is Alchemy. The share of the company that operates in the digital transformation market, listed on the Euronext Star segment of Borsa Italiana, gained more than 1% of its value from 30 January to 225 December, while the capitalization exceeded 125 million euros. In second place we find Gabetti, which is up 217% year-to-date. Bronze medal for Alerion which, after +242,8% in 2020, this year has achieved a nice +181,8%. Exprivia, is in fourth place with an increase of 181,26%. We are talking, in all four cases, of spectacular performances, which however remain far from the records reached in the 90s. Any examples? In 1998, driven by the Telecommunications takeover bid, Olivetti shares gained 527,6%, not to mention L'Espresso, which the following year recorded an increase of 433,2%. 

Moving forward with the 2021 ranking, he is in fifth position Ovs (+155,15), followed by Aeffe (+ 147,84%) and Conafi (+144,6%). They close the top 10 El.En (+ 134%), Cleansing (+ 128,5%) and San Lorenzo (+ 128,3%).

On the other side of the fence, the worst Borsa Italiana stock of 2021 is ePrice (-72,48%). A few days ago the subsidiary ePrice Operations, of which ePrice is the sole shareholder, approved the financial statements as at 31 December 2020 and filed an appeal with the Court of Milan for the company's admission to the arrangement with creditors procedure. Year to forget also for Bioera (-65,14%), Aedes (-56,75%), and for the Juventus, which, after the capital increase and the opening of the Prisma investigation, lost -47,64% of its value. THE BEST AND WORST FTSE MIB STOCKS

On the main list, the gold medal is Unicredit which, driven by the arrival of the new CEO Andrea Orcel and by speculation (later waned) on the possible acquisition of MPS, recorded an increase of 2021% in 77,09. Second, with an increase of 65,3%, is Cnh Industrial. A few days ago the company led by Suzanne Heywood approved the spin-off of the Iveco Group which will make its debut on Euronext Milan on 3 January. Cnh, controlled by the Exor group, is currently at an all-time high, above 17 euros per share, with a capitalization of 23,16 billion, in ninth place among the big names in the Milanese stock exchange. 

With an increase of 59,77% since the beginning of the year, we find in third position Interpump, a company specialized in the production of high/very high pressure pumps. Among the top 10 securities of the Ftse Mib, in addition to Unicredit, there are two other banks: Bpm bank (fourth with a +46%) e General Bank (seventh with a gain of 42,25%). In fifth and sixth place we find respectively stm (43%) ed Eni (+ 42.96%). 

Year to remember for stellantis, officially born on January 16, 2021 from the merger between FCA and PSA, which in its first year of operation gained 41,1% of its value on the stock exchange, placing itself in eighth place among the shares of the Ftse Mib. They close the ranking Amplifon e Tenaris, both with increases of more than 39%. 
There are only four Ftse Mib stocks that have archived 2021 in decline: the worst is Saipem (-16,33%). They follow Enel (-14,86%), nexi (-14,38%) And Diasorin (-1,56%).
