The 2018 baby bonus is at the starting line. After the great success of recent years, it is now possible to request a birth allowance from INPS (this is the official name of the subsidy) also for children born, adopted or taken into pre-adoptive foster care between January 31st and December XNUMXst of this 'year.

Let's summarize in a brief guide what you need to know about this form of support for the birth rate.

1) WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BABY BONUS 2018?

The applicant family must have a Isee minors not exceeding 25 thousand euros per year.
The parent submitting the application, on the other hand, must meet the following requirements:

– Italian citizenship or citizenship of a European Union State, or EU residence permit for long-term residents, or residence card for a family member of a Union citizen or permanent residence card for family members who do not have citizenship of a State member;

– residence in Italy;

– cohabitation with the child for whom the benefit is requested.

2) HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The 2018 baby bonus will be paid monthly for a maximum of 12 months. The deadline coincides with the completion of the first year of age of the child or with the first year of entry into the family of each child. This is a substantial difference compared to the baby bonus in force between 2015 and 2017, which lasted for three years.

3) HOW MUCH IS IT?

Families with underage Isee less than 7 thousand euros will receive a total of 1.920 euros (160 euros per month). If the same indicator is between 7 thousand and 25 thousand euros per year, however, the value of the 2018 baby bonus is halved to 960 euros (80 euros per month).

4) HOW TO APPLY FOR THE 2018 BABY BONUS?

The application must be submitted to the INPS via the dedicated online service. At the end of the investigation, the applicant receives a text message informing him of the definition of the application. From that moment, he can view the outcome of the application (accepted or rejected) by accessing the service again and selecting the item "Consultation of applications" from the menu.

If in completing the online application the user also enters his certified e-mail address, he can receive the provision of acceptance or rejection of the application directly in his Pec box.

Alternatively, you can apply through the Contact Center (on 803 164, free from a fixed network, or 06 164 164 from a mobile network), patronage bodies and intermediaries of the Institute.

In order to apply for the check it is necessary to present a Single Substitute Declaration (Dsu), in which the child for whom the allowance is requested must be present.

When sending the application it is necessary to attach the SR/163 model, or the request will be suspended.

If the application is submitted within 90 days of the child's birth or entry into the family, the first payment also includes the amount of the months accrued up to that moment. If, on the other hand, the application is presented beyond 90 days, the grant starts from the month in which the application is presented.

5) HOW DO I CASH IT?

The INPS can pay the 2018 baby bonus by bank transfer, credit to a bank or postal current account, postal passbook or prepaid card with Iban in the applicant's name. The parent must indicate the modality in the application.
