Bills: from April price increases for electricity

From next Saturday, April XNUMXst, the price changes for electricity and gas bills will take effect. For families there will be, in the second quarter, a 2,9% increase in electricity bills and a 2,7% decrease in gas bills. This is provided for by the update of the reference economic conditions for families and small consumers under protection for the second quarter of 2017 established by the Energy Authority.

In particular, "the effects of the increases at the beginning of the year in the wholesale market, triggered by emergencies on the connected European markets, especially the French one, and by the exceptional cold wave, weigh on the electricity trend", explains the Authority .

In detail, for electricity, the expenditure (before taxes) for the typical family in the rolling year (between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017) will be 505,54 euros, with a change of + 0,7% compared to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year (1 July 2015 – 30 June 2016), corresponding to an increase of 3,7 euros. For gas, the average household's expenditure in the same period will be around 1.029 euros, with a change of -4,4% compared to the rolling year, corresponding to a saving of around 47 euros.
