Gasoline, price increases continue and car-sharing is booming

The brakes don't work on expensive petrol. The trend remains that of the last few months: an upward arrow that shows no signs of reversing its direction. According to Staffetta Quotidiana, today's national average increased by 0,6 cents compared to yesterday, with green at 1,809 euros per liter and diesel at 1,752 euros/litre. Even Eni, which had remained at a constant level, adjusted its petrol prices.

Increase the value by esso (+0,5 cents on petrol), Ip (+0,5 cents on petrol and +1 cent on diesel), Tamoil (+1 on both), TotalErg (+0,7 for petrol and +0,9 for diesel), Q8 (+0,7 on petrol and +1 on diesel) e Shell (+0,9 on petrol and +1 on diesel). Only in seven regions does the price remain below 1,8 euros per liter for petrol: in Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Veneto, Lombardy, Sardinia, Sicily and Trentino Alto-Adige .

But motorists are not discouraged by these numbers and try to save money as they can. The chosen solution also seems to be the most eco-sustainable one: car-sharing, sharing one's car to travel the same route. The data was provided by postoinauto.it, the first Italian portal that puts in contact, through a secure system that offers the necessary guarantees, those offering and those looking for a lift in the main Italian cities and provinces.

According to the study conducted by the company, since it began operations in February 2010, it has reached i 100 shared parking spaces e Over the past year, ride offers have increased by 138%: this is a potential saving of 500 tons of CO emissions2.

Lhe metropolitan areas are the most active, with almost 3 shared rides in Rome and Milan; followed by Bologna, Modena, Verona and Pavia. The Milan-Rome stands at the top of the most requested routes with over 13 lift searches in the last year. And it's not surprising if you consider that on average this route on postoinauto.it costs between 30 and 35 euros: a figure that is unthinkable with any other means of transport. Followed by Rome-Bologna, Rome-Florence and Florence-Milan; Turin-Rome, Rome-Lecce, Milan-Bari and Milan-Naples are also in great demand.

They are above all young people to prefer this new way of traveling in company: the age group between 25 and 34 years is the most conspicuous and accounts for 26% of users, followed by 24% in the 18-24 age group. However, the average age of those who offer a lift is growing, around 39 years old (those who ask for it are on average 26 years old). Finally, 36% of users are women, demonstrating the fact that, with the appropriate safety measures, even women can feel safe sharing a car with strangers.
