Cesare Battisti has arrived in Italy. The former terrorist arrested two days ago in Bolivia from Interpol, with Bolivian, Italian and Brazilian agents, landed at Ciampino airport. Waiting for him was the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Salvini, and the head of Justice, Alfonso Bonafede.

Battisti was immediately taken over by the Mobile Operations Group of the Penitentiary Police and taken to the Oristano prison, without going through Rebibbia as previously indicated.

In the meantime it has been announced that, in the Roman prison, Battisti will be in a cell alone, with 6 months of daytime isolation, in the high-security circuit reserved for terrorists.

After 37 years on the run, "the Battisti affair" ends, and he will serve life imprisonment for the four murders for which he was convicted, Roberto Alfonso, Milan's attorney general, also explained that the former PAC will have no chance of obtaining benefits , adding that the investigations aimed at identifying the ex-terrorist's network of supporters continue.
