Bank of Italy: loans to individuals +2,4%, bad loans down

In the "Banks and money: national series" bulletin, the Bank of Italy indicates that loans to individuals were down slightly in February compared to the previous month, but non-performing loans continue to decrease: -10,8% in February - rates interest rates on loans for the purchase of homes, including ancillary costs, amounted to 2,25%.

In February, loans to the private sector grew by 2,4% on an annual basis, slowing down from the +2,7% recorded in January. This was announced by Bankitalia in the Bulletin "Banks and money: national series". Loans to households, on the other hand, grew by 2,8% (as in the previous month), while those to non-financial companies increased by 1,2% (a marked slowdown compared to +2% in January).

Private sector deposits are increased by 5,5% year-on-year (as in the previous month) while bond funding decreased by 19% (-16,7% in the previous month). Non-performing loans decreased by 10,8% on an annual basis (they had decreased by 9,2% in January).

In addition, in February the interest rates on loans disbursed to households during the month for the purchase of homes, including ancillary costs, amounted to 2,25% (2,27% in January); those on new consumer credit disbursements at 8,44%.

I interest rates on new loans to non-financial corporations they amounted to 1,54% (1,42% in January); those on new loans of amounts up to 1 million euro were equal to 1,99%, those on new loans of amounts exceeding this threshold 1,08%. The borrowing rates on all outstanding deposits amounted to 0,39%.
