Bank of Italy: in 2015 two out of three Italian companies will close with balance sheets in profit. Record for 10 years

The signs of recovery of the Italian economy continue after years of crisis. As repeated several times by the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, 2015 will be the year of change for workers and businesses. The latter in particular can breathe a sigh of relief after the difficulties caused by the recession. This year profits and earnings are finally back. On the contrary, no less than two out of three companies will close their balance sheets in profit, putting in place a real record for ten years now.

This is what emerges from the Financial Stability Report published today by the Bank of Italy.

According to a survey conducted by the institute “two thirds of companies, the highest share for about ten years, expect to close the 2015 financial statements with a profit. The majority of those interviewed – reads the Report – also anticipate an increase in investments and an improvement in the conditions of access to credit in the coming months”.

Good news is coming for 2016 as well. Based on what we read in the Palazzo Koch report, theNext year, Italian companies will also be able to grow stronger, putting an end to that fragility that has distinguished them in the period of crisis:  "In a macroeconomic scenario of recovery of activity, the share of financially vulnerable firms will significantly decrease in 2016". For the Bank of Italy "the improvement in the financial conditions of companies is also extending to the most fragile ones".
