Display the flags of Italy and the EU on 21 March, a symbolic date as the first day of spring and the feast of San Benedetto, patron saint of Europe. This is the proposal launched by Romano Prodi and collected by Achille Grandi Foundation, Rosselli Brothers Club, Koine, The Italy to come, Mondoperaio e Reformism and solidarity.
“The European flag and the Italian flag – reads a note from the associations – express our unity, guaranteeing everyone's inclusion; solidarity, grown with conviction despite the difficulties; progress, achieved with ingenuity and work for all; participation, against any deviation of power; democracy, for the future and the freedom of the young generations; peace, obtained with the sacrifice and commitment of many, to be maintained and developed with dialogue and respect among all European citizens and peoples in the interest and for the benefit of the whole universe”.
