Banks: ABI, net non-performing loans down to 77,2 billion in April

The net non-performing loans which weigh on the balance sheets of Italian banks fell, in April, to 77,23 billion from the 77,85 billion recorded in March.

These are the numbers that emerge from the Abi's monthly report.

Going into detail, net non-performing loans returned to the levels of February (77 billion), the lowest since May 2014, and are down sharply compared to the end of 2016 (86,8 billion) and down by 13% compared to the peak reached in November 2015 (89 billion).

On an annual basis, the decline is 8 percent, equal to -6,7 billion euros. The net non-performing loans/lending ratio instead decreased to 4,42% from 4,43% in March and from 4,67% in April 2016.
