Bank Ifis it is the first bank in Italy to have obtained the seal Karma Metrix Energy Efficient Website. In detail, Karma Metrix is ​​the algorithm that makes it possible to measure the CO2 emissions deriving from website pages, with the aim of improving digital sustainability, measuring and increasing the energy efficiency of websites to reduce the carbon dioxide emitted by Internet use.

The measurement, explains the institute led by Frederik Geertman, analyzed 50 pages of the bank's website, equal to 78% of annual views, and assigned a rating to the bank's website, identifying a class of merit with respect to a world median benchmark: most of the web pages analyzed (64%) deserved class B and 8% are currently already in class A or higher.

Banca Ifis and Karma Metrix will continue their collaboration during 2022 with the aim of bringing the Bank's website to further reduce its environmental impact and energy consumption. Among the medium-term objectives, the reduction of 32% of the total CO2 emissions of the site, bringing the 10 top pages to class A and, in the long term, to achieve a reduction in emissions of around 50%. For this reason, explains a note, the Bank has also defined in Business Plan 2022 -2024 a blueprint that sets objectives and commitments on Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and has created Kaleidos, the Social Impact Lab aimed at promoting initiatives with a high social impact, with particular attention to inclusive communities, culture and well-being.
