Thanks to the third agreement between Banca Ifis and the EIB, small and medium-sized enterprises will receive 100 million to finance green projects.

Banca Ifis, 100 million from the EIB for SMEs

Banca Ifis will give small and medium-sized Italian enterprises (SMEs) 100 million euro for use in projects for the sustainable transition of companies. This will be possible thanks to funding from the EIB (European Investment Bank) with the aim of providing companies with the funds necessary to reduce their environmental impact.

The agreement, the third to be financed by the EIB in the last 3 years, will finance all those projects that will have a positive impact in terms of environmental sustainability and from an ecological point of view. The loan and leasing contracts made available by Banca Ifis will affect small and medium-sized enterprises which have a maximum number of 249 employees and will have advantageous interest rates.

The first line of credit, worth 50 million, will be dedicated to fight against climate change through loans reserved for the leasing purchase of “full electric” and hybrid vehicles. The second line, still worth 50 million, will be reserved for 60% to finance innovation and those projects belonging to companies linked to the Industry 4.0 plan. The remaining 40% will be reserved for SMEs linked to the "commercial lending" sector to support new investments or working capital.

“Innovation and environmental sustainability are increasingly urgent priorities and the PNRR also places these issues first. As a bank specialized in services to SMEs and an active player in the environmental transition of its customers, we know that these investments are crucial for the development of the country and for building a more sustainable future. This renewed partnership with the EIB therefore confirms our support for the backbone of the Italian economic fabric and our commitment, increasingly inclusive of ESG criteria, in this complex recovery phase" declared the CEO of Banca Ifis, Frederik geertman.
