Auto, new increase in September: FCA +6% per annum thanks to Fiat, Jeep and Lancia-Chrysler

According to data from Acea, the European association of manufacturers, car registrations in Europe (EU28 + EFTA) amounted to 1,269 million vehicles in September, up 6,1% over the year, not far from the +5,8% of the 9 months – Fiat climbed above all thanks to the good performance in Spain, where it recorded +34,2% – Jeep made +134% in the UK.

In September, automotive in Europe confirmed the upward trend undertaken since the beginning of the year with fca (rising on the Stock Exchange) which improves, albeit only slightly, its performance thanks to the Fiat brand, Jeep which is aiming for a 50% increase in the year and a leap by Lancia-Chrysler. According to data from Acea, the European association of manufacturers, car registrations in Europe (EU28 + EFTA) amounted to 1,269 million vehicles in September, up 6,1% over the year, not far from the +5,8% of 9 months.

The Fiat Chrysler group registered 68.837 vehicles, up 6% on an annual basis, showing an improvement compared to the 2,6% increase in the first nine months. Fiat's market share in September was 5,4%, in line with the same month in 2013. In the 9 months, the share rose to 5,9% from 6,1% last year.

The Fiat brand alone rose by 4,2% compared to the +2,2% of the first nine months, thanks above all to the good performance in Spain, where it recorded +34,2% compared to the +26% of the market, which was supported by incentives, as a Fiat note explains. 500 and Panda are the best-selling cars in segment A. As a brand, the lion's share is taken by Jeep, which continues to run, scoring +61%, from +46,9% in the nine months. The lion's share goes to Great Britain with +134%.
