ATR, the 2018/20 joint venture between Airbus and Leonardo, obtains the first order of 600 in the USA. The Florida-based airline Silver Airways has in fact signed an order for 16 42 series aircraft, including 4 ATR 72s and XNUMX ATR XNUMXs. Deliveries will begin next March.
This order follows the one signed with Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) for 15 Atr 600 series, of which 12 Atr 42 and 3 Atr 72.
The aeronautical group announced today that the number of its orders more than tripled in 2017 compared to a year earlier, supported by a generally positive moment for the aeronautical sector. The company said it sold 113 aircraft in 2017, up from 36 in 2016.
The group, whose main competitor is the Canadian group Bombardier, added that its annual turnover has stabilized at 1,8 billion dollars, one of the best results since the company was founded in 1981.
According to IATA (International Air Transport Association), the airline sector is preparing for a 2018 with record profits thanks to the improvement in global growth and the increase in demand.
