In the first four months of 2014, ATR, the Franco-Italian joint venture, received orders for 100 aircraft – against 89 in all of 2013 – for a value of approximately three billion dollars. The company 50% owned by Airbus Group and Alenia Aermacchi (Finmeccanica group) explains that orders are led by the ATR-600 series, with 80% of requests "for regional aircraft under 90 seats announced so far" in the whole market.
“This is already a very dynamic year in terms of sales and we expect our orders to grow further very soon,” commented Filippo Bagnato, CEO of ATR.
“These exceptional results highlight the great work that is done daily by every Atr employee – added Bagnato -. Based on these positive results, our current portfolio well exceeds 300 aircraft.”
