Artissima and Intesa Sanpaolo: art to support the growth of our country

Artissima announces the entry of Intesa Sanpaolo among the partners who support the only Italian fair dedicated exclusively to contemporary art. Artissima and Intesa Sanpaolo share the idea that art is a fundamental engine for reactivating virtuous mechanisms of social dynamism and cultural enrichment.

Ilaria Bonacossa, Director of Artissima comments:

The new partnership between Artissima and Intesa Sanpaolo stems from a synergy of intentions and the common belief that art and culture are values in which to invest in order to support the country's growth. Being able to work together to enhance and promote contemporary art will be a challenge that we will develop in the belief that art allows for a more multifaceted vision of the world that is open to innovation and social transformation. The important investment in Turin and Piedmont by Intesa Sanpaolo with the opening of a new headquarters of the Gallerie d'Italia in Piazza San Carlo joins the mission of Artissima which, beyond its commercial nature, is a leading public actor in the cultural life of the area.

Michael Coppola, Executive Director of Art, Culture and Historical Heritage of Intesa Sanpaolo, declares:

Support for Artissima is part of a clear strategy to promote modern and contemporary art that has our art collection and the Gallerie d'Italia at its core. Starting to work with Artissima is a new step towards the opening of the Galleries in Piazza San Carlo dedicated mainly to photography and the digital world, which will join the many contemporary realities that make Turin one of the major cities of art in Europe.

Under the direction of Ilaria Bonacossa for the fourth consecutive year, the twenty-seventh edition of Artissima will be held from 6 to 8 November 2020 as usual at the spaces of theTurin Oval.
