Art-Rite Auction House presents Maurizio Cattelan, Gregor Schneider and Sislej Xhafa

4-U new is a concept that selects and proposes significant works of contemporary production of the last 30 years and with cultural as well as economic value.
In this auction session many works come from a prestigious Milanese collection, which among the first supported and acquired, between the 90s and 00s, artists who later became cornerstones of contemporary art, such as Maurizio Cattelan, Gregor Schneider, Francis Alÿs and Sislej Xhafa.

In particular, "Punishments” is representative of the ironic vision that Cattelan has of society, and this cycle that ridicules useless and therefore alienating school exercises has been one of the favorite themes of his production since the early 90s.

Similarly, two works by Gregor Schneider, “Sperm”, glass case containing water and silicone, and “Die Mutter un die Tochter”, a plaster slab with hairs applied, are significant examples of his activity in recent decades.
Xhafa is instead represented in the catalog with a photograph taken from “Clandestine Pavilion”, famous performance in which the artist, dressed as a football player with a ball and a backpack on his shoulders, represented, with no small amount of irreverence, the Albanian pavilion at the 47th Venice Biennale, in 1997, reflecting on belonging, on human rights and on the comparison with the other, key themes of his projects.

Interesting one photograph by Vanessa Beecroft, taken from the performance held at the Galleria Massimo de Carlo in 1996, but also two works by Adelita Husni-Bey, a young artist who however was among the three invited to the Italian Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale.

There is no shortage of figurative works, with works by Ann Craven, an oil on canvas from 2003 with one of his most iconic and recognizable subjects, Sean Landers, present with a sarcastic and provocative canvas, very current compared to the most contemporary trends on the market, as well as a selection of the latest generation of Italian painters, such as Marco Neri, Davide La Rocca, Domenico Piccolo and Andrea Chiesi.
