The French nuclear group records the highest red in its history: the devaluation after the Fukushima catastrophe and the acquisition of Uranim hit the budget above all.

Areva, in 2011 record loss: 2,4 billion euros

Record loss for the French nuclear group Areva: in 2011 it recorded 2,4 billion euros of red, mainly due to the write-downs made after the Fukushima catastrophe and the acquisition of Uramin (a company that extracts uranium from African deposits), which negatively affected the balance sheet by 1,5 billion.

For the transalpine group it is the highest loss in its history, since the year of its establishment (2001), while in 2010 it had collected a net profit of 883 million euros. However, Areva confirmed the financial perspectives up to 2016 announced in December.
