Gian Luca Spitella is the new communications director of Arera. He was nominated on February 12 by the board of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment yesterday, February 12. His appointment will become effective from Friday 15 February.
Spitella, a professional journalist, was the spokesman for the president of Cnel and director of the communication area of Utilitalia. Over the years he has collaborated with various newspapers, including the Sole 24 Ore. In 2001 he created the fifteen newsletter, aimed at providing updates on the movements of Federutility (Federation of water and energy services companies), of which Spitella was responsible for External Relations until 2015.
He is part of the Italian Communication community and has collaborated with Civicom and with the Italian Public Communication Review and with the IULM University of Milan and LUMSA of Rome.
In 2014 he was the spokesperson for the INPS Extraordinary Commissioner (Tiziano Treu) for the "construction site project" on the Institute's change management and for the redefinition of lines of communication and external relations. Furthermore, he was the founder of Acta Comunicare, a communication company with which he supported the press office activities for SOGEI (a company of the Ministry of the Economy) and coordinated the magazine "il Punto Vincente" of the Aams (State Monopoly) .
