Anti-Coronavirus decree: here are all the interventions

On Sunday evening the Council of Ministers gave the green light to the decree-law with the anti-coronavirus measures which will remain in force until 8 March. The provision seeks to give uniformity to the lines of action, but has already begun to create controversy because, in fact, it divides Italy into three zones.

1) THE 11 MUNICIPALITIES OF THE RED ZONE

In the 11 Municipalities of the red zone (Codogno, Castiglione d'Adda, Casalpusterlengo, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo, San Fiorano, Vo' Euganeo) the most stringent measures were applied, with the suspension of all activities in public places. The quarantine also remains in force, with the prohibition of crossing the borders of these Municipalities.

2) THE THREE REGIONS OF THE YELLOW ZONE

The second band includes the regions most affected by the coronavirus (Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna) plus two provinces in other regions: Pesaro-Urbino in the Marche and Savona in Liguria.

Here it was confirmed stop at school until 8 March (only this measure also applies to Friuli Venezia Giulia).

in museums gatherings must be avoided and therefore entrances will be limited. Visitors will then have to respect a distance of at least one meter from each other.

All events considered non-ordinary have been suspended: major events, cinemas, theatres, discos and religious ceremonies.

I places of worship they will remain open, but always on condition that no gatherings are created.

Same rule for i shops: No files should be created.

Bars and restaurants they will be able to perform the services on condition that they only serve customers with a seat and patrons must remain one meter away.

Suspended sporting competitions, unless they are behind closed doors.

In the provinces of Bergamo, Lodi, Piacenza and Cremona, the adults will be closed on the weekend shopping centers.

In Lombardy, in the Province of Piacenza alone, all activities in gyms, sports centres, swimming pools, wellness centers and spas were suspended until 8 March.

3) THE REST OF ITALY

The measures that concern the rest of the national territory are instead precautionary and hygienic.

Disinfectant solutions will be available in public administrations.

Public transport companies will take extraordinary measures for sanitation.

Smart working (i.e. teleworking, from home) may be applied to employees.

The decree concludes with the recommendation to follow some fundamental hygiene measures:

  • Wash your hands often.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with people suffering from respiratory infections.
  • Do not take antivirals unless prescribed.
  • Frequently clean surfaces with disinfectants.
  • Use masks only if you suspect you are ill.
