AnsaldoBreda: Belgorail, the Fyra high-speed train is reliable

The Fyra V250 high-speed train, at the center of the dispute between AnsaldoBreda and the Belgian and Dutch state railways regarding its safety, is reliable and, with the improvements made, can also cope with adverse weather conditions, well beyond the applicable contractual requirements.
This is what Belgorail claims, the Belgian railway certification body authorized according to European legislation.

The assessment of Belgorail was requested by the Belgian national safety authority SSICF ('Service de Sécurité et d'Interopérabilité des Chemins de Fer'). Today AnsaldoBreda released the Belgorail report in which the institution 'acquitted' the train, positively evaluating the mechanical modifications developed, called 'winter modifications', aimed at improving the grip of the V250 trains in extraordinary winter weather conditions.

Furthermore, according to the note from the main Italian company that builds rolling stock for rail transport, the modifications comply with the requirements of Belgian law and these 'winter modifications' can be expected to improve the behavior of the V250 rolling stock in the event of circulation under severe winter conditions.

However, on a day in which the FtseMib index fell (-1,63%) the Finmeccanica Group also recorded, at 15 pm, -30%.
