Ania: "No coordination on local public transport tenders"

Ania, the national association of insurance companies, takes the field after the Antitrust decision which sentenced Generali (12 million) and UnipolSai (16,9 million) to heavy penalties for cartel on the participation in Rca tenders of the vehicles of 15 insurance companies local public transport. Decision against which the two companies have already announced their intention to appeal to the Tar.

Ania intervenes today and "vigorously denies that the technical table and the association meetings mentioned several times in the provision were aimed at agreeing alleged anti-competitive conduct. Without prejudice to the initiatives that the companies involved will take to defend their rights, Ania specifies that the association's activity in this field was carried out in full compliance with the legislation and at the explicit request of other Authorities (Ivass and the National Anti-Corruption Authority) which participated in the technical table with its own representatives to discuss the critical issues that characterize the cost of the insurance services of public transport companies and to facilitate the completion of the tenders”.
