Double-digit growth for all the main financial parameters, but the estimates are slightly lower than the consensus and the stock is down. However, the Vita CEO underlines: "We are growing more than the market"

Amplifon: strong growth in revenues, ebitda and profits in the third quarter of 2022

Double-digit growth in revenues, profits and ebitda for Amplifon which archives a positive third quarter despite the difficult economic situation. On the Stock Exchange, however, the stock slipped by 3,92% per share due to a lower-than-consensus guidance.

Amplifon: third quarter results 2022

Amplifon closed the July-September quarter with a Net income equal to 29,7 million euros, up by 12,1% compared to the same period of the previous year. The same percentage increase also for i consolidated revenues, which rose to 502,5 million euros. Growing strongly too the ebitda, amounting to 109,4 million euros.

The nine months of Amplifon

In the nine months, hearing aid medical device group recorded a net profit of 119,5 million, up 13,7% e consolidated revenues equal to 1,53 billion (+11,6%). The EBITDA increased by 13,3% to 369,5 million euros, with an EBITDA margin of 24%, up by 40 basis points compared to the same period of 2021 “thanks to timely and effective cost containment measures, even after significant investments in the business”.

“The results of the third quarter and the first nine months of 2022 – he said the CEO Enrico Vita – show once again our ability to grow more than the reference market and in all the main geographical areas, consolidating Amplifon's global leadership in hearing care services and solutions. Today we have an ideal positioning in terms of market shares, quality of service, innovation capacity and skills to be able to compete in an uncertain macroeconomic and geopolitical context like the current one and continue to grow and generate value for our stakeholders".

Estimates for 2022

Amplifon expects to close 2022 with revenues of 2,15 billion euros and with a recurring ebitda margin of 25%. Banca Akros, before the release of the accounts, estimated revenues of 2,196 billion euros with an Ebitda margin of 25,2%. 

Furthermore, the company “confirms that it is in the ideal position to further strengthen its leadership globally in any possible scenario”. These expectations for 2022 - a press release specifies - assume that there are no further slowdowns in global economic activities due, among other things, to the thematic notes relating to the current geopolitical situation, inflation trends and the emergency healthcare.
