Heat alert: 16 red dots on Friday 28, but a break over the weekend

Italy has been boiling, from North to South, without respite for days. A minimal, perhaps imperceptible, respite will only come over the weekend, to tell the truth rather on Saturday, while the heat will again be tending to unbearable on Sunday 30 June. Is this the dramatic weather picture of the last days of June, the final part of which recorded temperatures that had not been seen in Italy since the record summer of 2003. For a few days already the African anticyclone has brought temperatures well over 30 degrees to the whole peninsula, which have become 40 or so there in different cities on Thursday. To understand the situation, rather than the forecast sites, you need to consult the one of Ministry of Health: Thursday 27 June the capital cities with a red dot (which means "emergency conditions with possible negative effects on the health of healthy and active people as well and not only on subgroups at risk such as the elderly, very young children and people suffering from chronic") there were 7, all in the Centre-North, while today, Friday 28 June, there are 16.

In fact, Bari, Bologna, Frosinone, Latina, Milan, Naples, Venice, Verona and Viterbo are added to the list. Almost everywhere temperatures are expected to exceed 35-36 degrees, and the perceived temperatures touch or exceed 40. A little better, as mentioned, will go on Saturday 29 June: it will always be very hot everywhere and no precipitation is forecast, but the sultriness will give a break and the mercury column will allow Italians a little breathing space, especially those who live in big cities, where even the night temperatures do not drop below 25 -26 degrees. From the red dot, on Saturday, only Lazio will remain, with 4 capitals out of five still reported by the Ministry of Health: Rome, Viterbo, Latina and Frosinone. On almost all the rest of the country, the sticker will not even be orange (health risk in the most susceptible subgroups of the population), but mostly yellow (pre-alert) or even green (no risk for the population). However, summer is still very long.
