Alitalia: referendum from 20 to 24 April

The workers of the company will express themselves on the pre-agreement signed at the Mise between the unions and the company on an industrial level – There will be seven seats in all: five at Fiumicino, one at Malpensa and another at Linate.

The Alitalia workers' referendum will begin next Thursday, April 20, at 6 am and will end next Monday, April 24, at midnight. This is what emerges from the inter-union meeting that took place today.

The workers of the company will express themselves on the pre-agreement signed at the Mise between the unions and the company on an industrial level. There will be seven seats in all: five at Fiumicino, one at Malpensa and another at Linate.

The National Pilots Association, "after a careful evaluation of the agreement signed by the union organizations on 14 April 2017, will give indications to Alitalia pilots to vote no in the referendum". This was stated by the association in a note.

“It is unheard of – explains the president Marco Veneziani – that after all the sacrifices made both in 2008 and in 2015, with cuts in labor costs of over 40%, today there is still an agreement signed and put to a referendum which provides for cuts not 8% on wages but rather 30% per year”.

For tomorrow Wednesday, the PNA has convened an assembly of all Alitalia pilots.

Uiltrasporti will instead leave freedom to vote to its members. The general secretary of Uiltrasporti, Claudio Tarlazzi, said that the unions have “done everything possible and now the word is going to the workers. The situation is very complicated, but everyone in front of the card will start thinking about their own future”.
