Alitalia: for Russia the dossier is not yet closed

"Russia has not yet closed the Alitalia dossier". These are the words of Fabrizio Pagani, adviser for economic and international affairs to the Italian Prime Minister.

According to the adviser, Moscow has not completely abandoned the idea of investing in Alitalia. In fact, the company is looking for new capital after the decision by Air France-KLM not to subscribe to the capital increase.

The deadline for subscribing the 27 million capital increase launched by Alitalia will expire on the 300th. Air France-KLM, a 25% shareholder, reiterated that it will not subscribe to it and will allow its stake to be diluted up to around 7%.

"Alitalia is seeking integration into a large international group that will ensure its development," Pagani said.

The Russian company Aeroflot has been repeatedly credited by Italian newspapers with an interest in Alitalia.
