Alitalia: Gubitosi, Laghi and Paleari appointed commissioners. Ok to bridging loan

Minister Calenda has appointed three commissioners who in the next six months will have to present a plan for the sale of the airline - Bridge loan of 600 million "at market conditions" - Flights and operations will not undergo any changes and will continue according to the planned schedule .

The Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda has decreed the admission of Alitalia to extraordinary administration on the basis of the Marzano law decree. With the decree for Alitalia's admission to extraordinary administration, a commissioner board was appointed made up of three commissioners: Luigi Gubitosi, Enrico Laghi and Stefano Paleari.  

The three commissioners will now have the task of presenting a credible plan for the sale of the company within six months. In fact, at the press conference, Minister Calenda confirmed that the mandate of Gubitosi, Laghi and Paleari "is broad in terms of scope but limited in terms of time". The minister has also announced the size of the bridging loan for the former national airline, authorized by the European Union in recent days: 600 million euros for six months "at market conditions, Euribor +1.000 basis points".

It just arrived today unanimous green light from the Board to the Alitalia commissioner. Having met at the end of the meeting, it unanimously decided to present the application for admission to the extraordinary administration procedure as established by law. “The shareholders had made their willingness to recapitalize and refinance conditional on an agreement with the trade unions, failed with the outcome of the referendum among employees“, reads a note from the airline.

Flights and operations will not undergo any changes and will continue according to the planned schedule, reads a note released at the end of the company's board meeting.
