Air France is back: it wants Alitalia for its new low cost

Air France KLM sharpens its weapons to conquer Alitalia. The French company is not among the groups that have presented expressions of interest for the acquisition of the Italian carrier, but could come into play later, in partnership with the American Delta.

According to what MF – Milano Finanza writes today, the US company would be interested in the long-haul part of Alitalia. Air France, on the other hand, would focus on medium and short-haul connections to integrate them into the Boost project.

It is a spin-off conceived to compete with Easyjet and Ryanair, but above all to curb the expansion of Norwegian, which is growing in Italy and above all in France.

In the intentions of the management, Boost should see the light by the end of the year: the go-ahead from the French government has already arrived and the project is being voted on by the pilots.
